A couple of friends and I went on a spur of the moment scrapbooking retreat last August. I decided to go through some of my digital scrapbooking kits to see what kit would go with the colors in these pictures. The free kit I used was designed by Melany Violette called “Delightful Girl.” I downloaded this kit from her website, simplycleandigiscraps.com about a year ago. I also used a photo template I bought from scrapgirls.com as a starting point on this page. The templates are nice because you can just place your pictures in the openings for quick and easy scrapbooking. After you do that, you pick your digital paper and then use the clipping mask command(Ctrl-G) to cut the paper in the shape of the template.

My goal is to finish the journaling in my scrapbook retreat album. I have done the pages for the last retreat with my gal pals in February, but just haven’t gotten around to finishing them. Maybe while the kids are watching Disney channel, I’ll actually have some scrapbooking productivity time. Come back to see some funny pictures and some cute pages in a couple of days. This is an 8×8 album and fast becoming one of my favorite size albums to make.

I just got back from our scrapbooking retreat and want to share our team page with you. What I mean by that is that we all (12) worked on this layout to put in the guestbook at the retreat home. We always put Rene’ in charge of this project because of her creative genius. She had us each choose which heart design we wanted her to cut out with her Silhouette electronic cutter and then we each decorated our own heart to put on the page. She originally made it a 12×12 page and then scanned it into the computer. She also emailed it to all of us, so I can get it printed in a 8×8 size for my own book. Mine is the “K” heart. I fooled a lot of people with that hinge. They thought it was metal and I cut it out of metallic paper on my Cricut. We had so much fun on that trip! I suppose I’ll go through scrapbooking withdrawal since we worked on projects night and day for 2 days straight. Oh, well…
