I did another set of pages for our friends Christmas photo cards that were sent to us. I used the same “technique” as I did for the previous family card pages. I cropped them all as small as I could and then started in the middle of the two pages and worked my way out to the outer edges. Just think of it like putting a puzzle together, but much easier as you aren’t using funny shapes. I used my photo pen to write on names and then added some embellishments and I was finished.

Hi all. I came up with a quick and easy way to scrap all of the photo cards I received from friends and family. I divided up the photos into two piles–one for friends and one for family. The pages I’m showing you today are of the family pictures. I decided to keep it simple and just use green cardstock for my background. Then I cropped all of the pictures down to just the “meat” of the pictures (people). After that, I started in the middle and just started fitting pictures together side by side like a puzzle, working my way out horizontally. When I adhered them all to my page, I took a Zig Signature pen and wrote directly on the pictures. This pen is made especially for writing on pictures and I love it. Last I cut out Season’s Greetings with the Cricut and placed some Christmas stamp stickers on the page and I was done. I’m telling you this page took less than 20 minutes to do!

Here is another set of Fourth of July pages I did a few years ago. We must have done a lot of four-wheeling that weekend because most of my pictures are of that. It is our tradition to go up to Northern Wisconsin for the Fourth of July holiday so I have pictures of the Wisconsin woods every year around the same time. My kids, in fact, used to think it was called “Up North” because that’s how we referred to it, until we realized they thought it was an actual town or something. Another funny thing is that my oldest thought Wisconsin was pronounced Misconsin. I think the “w” was just harder to say at first when she was little. These pages have a northern feel with the black and red checked paper. I like the “Days of Summer” title. It looks like a sign hanging on the page. That is adhesive silver mesh underneath the letters.

I went through one of my scrapbooks and found some of those Independence Day pictures I was promising to dig up. These pictures are from 2003 taken in Wisconsin at my parent’s lake place. My youngest daughter also caught her first fish that weekend so that was also included on the page. The paper was a little busy to me so I covered it with some matted pictures and other accents. The stars were cut out with the Creative Memories Shapes Cutting System. “Tara’s First Fish” was stamped with Close to My Heart Acrylic Stamps. It’s not one of my favorite pages, but it documented the memory of that Fourth of July holiday and I can see how stinkin’ cute my kids were then.

Hello scrappers. Just leaving you a note to take some pictures over the Fourth of July holiday. Fireworks, barbeques, family gatherings, whatever you do, take some photos. I have a graduation open house to attend and we are going to my parent’s lake home so I’ll be busy. I do have some pictures and pages done for this holiday so I’ll be sure to dig those out next week to share with you. Have a great holiday weekend!

Hello all. Just back from out of town and thought I’d better post another layout from my scrap weekend in May. This one has a few different elements worth noting. At the crop, a woman from the store sponsoring the crop, showed us a new type of punch tool. Of course, I had to ask to try it out and the punched lacy-looking border came from that. It doesn’t look like something I would usually put on a page, but I had to try something new. The title I cut out on the Cricut and then inked the edges and the letters. I was kind of going for another look, but I like the distressed look I ended up with.

This is another of several pages I completed at the scrap weekend I went to almost a month ago. My good friend from college had come to visit and while we were out and about she bought some Robin’s Egg candy for my kids. Little did I know she would teach them how to use the candy as funky lipstick. My oldest chose not to use the blue, so her “lipstick” hardly shows up. Once I saw those blue lips I knew I had to grab the camera. I would imagine that they will be requesting those candies again next Easter. If I were to do this page over I would have done the title in a color that would stand out more–but the page is still cute. Maybe I will go back with a blue pen around the title when I do my journaling.

Hello all. This is another page I did at the scrapbooking crop weekend. I wanted to do something different for an Easter picture this year, so I decided to take a picture of the eggs we colored and not the whole egg coloring process. Besides, I kind of get into the whole egg coloring process and you don’t want egg dye on your camera, right? This picture turned out great so I decided to use some bright paper to go with the picture of the bright eggs. I just cut paper strips and then used the same paper to cut out the title on my Cricut cutting machine. I also cut out some tags to use below the picture. Now all I have left is my journaling piece and this page is done.

I recently got a new spring picture of my niece and nephew. Since the colors they are wearing look so much like spring I decided to use my Easter kits I received from my designer friend to make another Easter layout. There isn’t a whole lot of difficulty to doing this page. I just used my digital cutting tool to cut a rectangle to mat the picture. The flowers did have stems and leaves, but I chose to remove those to just have a round embellishment. The rest of the digital embellishments were added and some text. Lastly, I added some drop shadows on the elements to give it a little dimension like things look when they are layered on a regular scrapbook page. I will be making this page into a freebie to offer you for Easter so be sure to stop back and get it. To find these kits, go to Digital Arts Cafe and look under the Easter Collab Kit. It is a huge kit and I only downloaded two of the five parts of it.

My friend from college sent me some adorable pictures of her foster son so of course I had to digital scrapbook. Any excuse will do. Actually my designer friend gave me some free digital kits to use and so I came up with the idea to make a baby bunny page. I thought there just has to be a bunny or bunny ears in this kit. After I used the magic extractor tool in photoshop to pluck just the baby image out of the photo, I just placed the bunny to line the ears up in the right spot over the baby. After I had them in the right spot, I used the lasso tool to delete all of the bunny except the ears. There was an Easter alphabet included so I used that for the title and added the other digital embellishments later. I personalized the basket by placing the baby’s name and the year on it. When I sent it to my friend, her reaction was, “OMG, that’s so stinkin’ cute!”
