Last month I got together with two friends from college. One friend I hadn’t seen since her wedding around 1990. She now lives in South Dakota and came to the Twin Cities for a work conference. It was so fun to see her and catch up on what we have been doing. I used the “Flutter By” digital kit to do this page also. I plan on making a freebie quickpage for you to download and use modeled after this page. Be sure to stop back again as I should have it posted by the end of the week. What I really like about this page is the fact that I was able to dig up some old photos of us in college and add them to the pictures I took last month for a priceless page. I think I’m going to have to remember to do this for more pages to come, especially of my kids.

I just opened a digital kit from my digital designer friend Karyn Robinson called “Flutter By” to play with. I had some pictures I took last month at a friend’s house and had to try out this kit. This page is of my friend, Allyson, and her daughter. I wanted to do something different with them and managed to dig out a frame I got in a newsletter from Scrapgirls.com. It looks like a negative so I used two of them on this page for the two pictures. The rest of the embellishments and the digital paper came from the “Flutter By” kit that you can find on sale at Enchanted Studios. This page went really fast for me and came together in about 15 minutes.

Since many of us scrapbookers are working on trying to get our kids back to school, I thought I would use my friend, Karyn Robinson’s new digital kit, “Tales of the Heart” to make a free digital quickpage for those back to school photos. She has a really cute clipboard embellishment in the kit that was perfect to use for this page. The alphabet she created also is very cute with little hearts and works great for the title. Just add your pictures and text and you have one more page out of the way. Hope you like it. Enjoy!

I’ve made another digital page using my friend Karyn’s new kit called “Tales of the Heart.” I usually have my pictures up front in the foreground when digital scrapping, but this time I tried something different. I made my page and then came across the frame embellishment that looks like a wreath. Since my photo is taken outdoors on a hike, this goes with the theme of the page perfectly. Hope you enjoy it!

An old family friend passed away this week and her funeral was today. I make quite a few cards and I wanted to make a sympathy card, but wondered how I should do it. I started thinking about this as soon as I heard of her death. I was thinking…do I have any pictures of her? I went looking in one of my wedding albums and I found a picture of Betty and her late husband at my friend’s (their daughter’s) wedding. After I found that picture, I started talking to my husband and a scrapping friend about whether I should use this picture to make some nice remembrance cards for her children (my friends). They thought it was a good idea so I went ahead and scanned the picture out of the album. I cropped it into an oval shape and placed it on some digital paper. I made it a 4×6 print so I could upload it to a photo site and add a border around it and get it in one hour. I also added a “Carpe Diem–Seize the Day” saying on the front. I also wonder if it is appropriate to blog about making this card, but it will help the healing process I guess as I’m pretty torn up about this loss. You see, my friends, Paul and Linda just lost their dad a year and a half ago and now their mom this week. My friends are only 41 and 42 years old so it is a tragic loss for them. Here’s the base for the card front.

Rest well old friend….

Hello scrappers! My schedule has been a little crazy this week with school starting. I also found out that a friend of my family’s has passed away and my father-in-law is scheduled to have surgery for a brain tumor this Friday. So I guess the title of my page also applies to my life situation right now even though the subject matter is completely unrelated. The picture on this page comes from a camping trip we took this summer. We went to Gooseberry Falls State Park on the North Shore and this picture was taken after it rained all night. The falls were full and beautiful to look at. I used Karyn Robinson’s Tales of the Heart Digital Kit found at Enchanted Studio Scraps. Please check it out for your digital scrapping needs.

Hi Scrappers! I finally finished a new freebie using Karyn Robinson’s “Just a Boy” digital kit. The kit is really versatile and could be used for many other subjects. All you have to do is download the freebie and add your photos to the layout. Add some dates and text and you are finished. I plan on using it to do a page about my three nephews. Of course, I’ll have to catch them with my camera first. At 5, 3, and 2 years old it can be difficult. Enjoy your free quickpage!

I just got a new digital kit from a designer friend of mine, Karyn Robinson, and since I have girls I’ve had to “borrow” pictures to use of my nephews and other little ones I know. The kit is called “Just a Boy.” I used the second part of the larger kit or the mini kit Part 2. You can view these kits over at Enchanted Studios.I found this picture of my nephew trying on his mittens and hat with no jacket on and wearing a cheesy little kid smile. The title to use for this page just sort of hit me all of the sudden, but it really works and is quite humorous. I do plan on making a freebie with this kit sometime this week, so be sure to check back for it. Happy Scrapping!

Hi all! I just got back from vacation and have been dealing with a family health crisis in my husband’s family so my scrapping has been put on the back burner. I did get some more cute pictures of my cousin’s new baby boy and did a quick layout with a new digital kit I got from Karyn Robinson. The kit is called “Just a Boy Part 1” and once again it is highly versatile and could be used for a number of different subjects. I think this picture was taken on a cell phone because the ppi number was really low when I brought it into the layout. I ended up making an 8×8 page because the photo was getting really distorted if I blew it up bigger. Hope you like how it turned out.

I have been getting very cute baby pictures via email of my cousin’s new baby and I just have to share this page with you. It is a sweet baby sleeping and you know how precious babies and kids look when they are asleep. I used Karyn Robinson’s “Oh Baby” Kit again and it is available at Digital Arts Cafe until the end of the month. It may even be on sale since they are closing their doors. I’m loving digital scrapbooking these days because it is so quick and easy and I can do it without getting out all of my tools and paper.
