I’ve made another digital page using my friend Karyn’s new kit called “Tales of the Heart.” I usually have my pictures up front in the foreground when digital scrapping, but this time I tried something different. I made my page and then came across the frame embellishment that looks like a wreath. Since my photo is taken outdoors on a hike, this goes with the theme of the page perfectly. Hope you enjoy it!

Hello scrappers! My schedule has been a little crazy this week with school starting. I also found out that a friend of my family’s has passed away and my father-in-law is scheduled to have surgery for a brain tumor this Friday. So I guess the title of my page also applies to my life situation right now even though the subject matter is completely unrelated. The picture on this page comes from a camping trip we took this summer. We went to Gooseberry Falls State Park on the North Shore and this picture was taken after it rained all night. The falls were full and beautiful to look at. I used Karyn Robinson’s Tales of the Heart Digital Kit found at Enchanted Studio Scraps. Please check it out for your digital scrapping needs.

This is a page I did a few years back that I really like. I do a lot of fishing scrapbook pages because my parents have a lake home in Wisconsin. On this fishing trip we went to my Great Uncle Bob’s house and went fishing on his pontoon with my dad and my daughter. My Great Uncle loves to fish and goes fishing almost every day no matter what the season. It is also quite funny to go fishing with him and my dad because they together act quite similar to the characters in the movie “Grumpy Old Men.” I laser cut the letters at a local scrapbook store and I love how they make the page. This page is a tribute to the passion some people have for fishing and my Great Uncle.

I’m finally getting around to taking some pictures of the layouts I did at my scrapbook weekend crop a couple of weeks ago. This page came about as a result of my youngest daughter acting purely spontaneously! I managed to capture different moments of her doing a sparkler dance of sorts. I’m so surprised they turned out because there is so much movement in these pictures. My mom and dad always have sparklers (firework wands) at their place in the woods. Usually we do them on July 4th, but they make their way out just about everytime we go up there. The gold shimmer letters I found at an unclaimed freight store. I chose the papers because of the green leaves of the trees in the pictures and she was wearing purple so I used that to matte the pictures. The rest of the title was cut on the Cricut Electronic Cutting Machine. I still need to complete the journaling and tell the story of the “sparkle dance.”

Last summer my cousin and his family came to Wisconsin to visit. Their son had never had s’mores before so we had a campfire and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows (s’mores) over the fire. My girls also love this campfire tradition when we go camping and to visit Grandma and Grandpa up north. I hadn’t been digital scrapping for very long when I did this page so you can see that a pretty nice page is a snap when you do it digitally. The papers and the template I used were all free. Some were from Scrapgirls.com and the template with the ripped paper look is called the Cottage Arts Template Tear Sampler if you want to locate it online. I can’t remember which site it was, but that should help you find it in a search.

The sun is finally out here and that has me thinking summer! Last year my family went to a campground that was part of a park system that had a waterpark attached to it along with horse stables, golf course, and bike trails. We had a great time there and are planning to go back this summer. I did a couple of digital layouts for this trip. The one I am posting today is of the waterpark. There was a wave pool, waterslides, and water playgrounds, so something for everybody. My designer friend gave me the digital kit called Bee Mine to use for some layouts and I used the bright papers and embellishments for this layout. You can find the kit over at Digital Arts Cafe under Karyn’s Designs. I’m pleased with the funky title for the page. I took a picture at the park of the Bunker Beach sign and then jazzed it up with my photoshop elements software. I especially like this page because you feel like you are at the park and want to jump into the page.

I think this is one of my favorite layouts that I finished last weekend. My oldest daughter is such a nature lover and loves to camp and be outdoors. These pictures were taken at Gooseberry Falls on the north shore of Minnesota. In fact, when she was about three, my husband wanted to come in from out in the back yard and she was like one those animals you see in the cartoons that stick out all arms and legs in an attempt to not fit through the door. How do you not completely bust a gut at that! Now it just pouting and a long face, but still quite funny. I actually wrote down my supplies for this one in case you like something you see. The patterned polka dot paper is called Confetti & Daisies from Kelly Panacci, Inc. The Fern’s Garden paper is from Provocraft. The cardstock paper came from a DCWV stack of paper. The leaf embellishments(I have been waiting to use forever) are from Colorbok Photographics line. The title was cut with the cricut doodletype cartridge. The nature saying was from a vellum mini-stack. She really is my nature girl.

Happy Friday readers! Here is another page I completed on the scrapbooking trip. Every summer my family goes on an annual camping trip with my cousins and my aunt and her husband. Last year, we went to Lake Carlos and here are the pictures to prove it. There was a wine orchard not far from the campground so we took a trip over there to check it out and taste some wine. The paper I used was from Karen Foster Designs, called “Road Trip.” The yellow and green cardstock was from scraps I had leftover from other projects. The watermelon ribbon was from the dollar bin at Target. The title was cut out using the All Mixed Up cartridge and the Cricut electronic cutting machine. We made a lot of use out of the Cricut on the trip and I think I’ve gotten my money’s worth out of that already. If you have a Cricut please do not pay full price for cartridges. Go on ebay and find deals on the ones you would like. You’ll save big bucks!

I made this “Just Add Water” page last weekend at the retreat also. I have to admit I scraplifted the idea from Creating Keepsakes for the tic-tac-toe design. For papers I used plain blue cardstock and some polka dot paper for the lines. The wet and swim figure digital sticker I got from Scrapgirls.com. Valerie Randall created some nice Camp Scrappy digital kits there. The Just Add Water embellishment I made myself using Adobe Photoshop Elements software. That is probably my favorite part of the page, besides the pictures, of course. The second page looks a little crowded to my eye, but I didn’t want to do three pages so I overlapped photos on the page. It was a fun camping weekend with 4 families from the MOMS Club group I used to belong to.
