All Boy Digital Freebie Quickpage

Published by kb1151 under Digital, baby, freebies Edit This

Hi Scrappers!  I finally finished a new freebie using Karyn Robinson’s “Just a Boy” digital kit.  The kit is really versatile and could be used for many other subjects.  All you have to do is download the freebie and add your photos to the layout.  Add some dates and text and you are finished.  I plan on using it to do a page about my three nephews.  Of course, I’ll have to catch them with my camera first.  At 5, 3, and 2 years old it can be difficult.  Enjoy your free quickpage!

All Dressed Up & Snow Place to Go Digital Scrapbooking Page

Published by kb1151 under Digital, baby Edit This

I just got a new digital kit from a designer friend of mine, Karyn Robinson, and since I have girls I’ve had to “borrow” pictures to use of my nephews and other little ones I know.  The kit is called “Just a Boy.”  I used the second part of the larger kit or the mini kit Part 2.  You can view these kits over at Enchanted Studios.I found this picture of my nephew trying on his mittens and hat with no jacket on and wearing a cheesy little kid smile.  The title to use for this page just sort of hit me all of the sudden, but it really works and is quite humorous.  I do plan on making a freebie with this kit sometime this week, so be sure to check back for it.  Happy Scrapping!

Mama’s Boy Digital Scrapbooking Page

Published by kb1151 under Digital, baby Edit This

Hi all!  I just got back from vacation and have been dealing with a family health crisis in my husband’s family so my scrapping has been put on the back burner.  I did get some more cute pictures of my cousin’s new baby boy and did a quick layout with a new digital kit I got from Karyn Robinson.  The kit is called “Just a Boy Part 1” and once again it is highly versatile and could be used for a number of different subjects.  I think this picture was taken on a cell phone because the ppi number was really low when I brought it into the layout.  I ended up making an 8×8 page because the photo was getting really distorted if I blew it up bigger.  Hope you like how it turned out.

Perfect Little Miracle Baby Digital Scrapbooking Page

Published by kb1151 under Digital, baby Edit This

I have been getting very cute baby pictures via email of my cousin’s new baby and I just have to share this page with you.  It is a sweet baby sleeping and you know how precious babies and kids look when they are asleep.  I used Karyn Robinson’s “Oh Baby” Kit again and it is available at Digital Arts Cafe until the end of the month.  It may even be on sale since they are closing their doors.  I’m loving digital scrapbooking these days because it is so quick and easy and I can do it without getting out all of my tools and paper.

Baby Makes Three Scrapbooking Page

Published by kb1151 under baby Edit This

Hello all!  My cousin and his wife just had their first baby so I whipped up a couple of new digital pages to show you this week.  This page was done with Karyn Robinson’s “Oh, Baby” Kit.  If you like it you may still be able to find it at Digital Arts Cafe, although the cafe is closing soon unfortunately.  I’m not sure why, but I’ve been doing quite a few one picture digital layouts lately.  I know sometimes I only get emailed a picture or two so I pick the best one and try to make a page of it.  I hope you like this one.

Cutie Pie Summer Digital Scrapbook Page

Published by kb1151 under Digital, baby Edit This

I did another cute digital page of my niece with the same “Once Upon a Summer” Kit at Digital Arts Cafe.  One thing I had to do was adjust the color of the papers a little bit to match my picture.  It is fairly easy to do with Adobe Photoshop Elements.  The original colors were a bright pink and a darker blue so I just used the Image–Adjust color commands to play around with the different hues of that color to come up with more of an aqua blue and rosy orange color.  I’m still working on learning different digital techniques.  That’s what is so fun for me and stimulating, even.  Learning something new is kind of exciting and gets you going to want to learn more about it.

Digital Scrapbooking Tricks–Overlap a Photo Edge with Digital Papers & Embellishments

Published by kb1151 under Digital, baby Edit This

Another trick I saw in my Computer Tricks for Scrapbooking 2 magazine by Jessica Sprague, is overlapping a photo edge with digital paper and embellishments.  I chose another cute baby picture to try this out with.  To do this, pick a picture and paper to match.  Place your picture in a corner of your page.  Place your digital paper over your picture (so you can’t see it).  Next, use your elliptical marquee tool to make a circle.  Once you have done that, click on the circle and drag it to the corner where your picture is hidden.  Then you will hit delete.  Your picture will be revealed.  You may have to move your picture a little bit to adjust the fit.  It took me a few tries to get the size of my circle right and the placement so don’t get frustrated if you don’t get it on the first try.  Lastly, I found some a cord embellishment I could place and rotate around my circle shape.  It needed a little something more, so I used the cookie cutter tool to cut another circle frame out of green digital paper and placed that on the picture.  Add a title and other embellishments and your’re done.  I used a kit called “Oh, Baby” by Karyn Clarke at Digital Arts Cafe

Digital Scrapbooking Trick–Rotate Letters Around a Shape

Published by kb1151 under Digital, baby Edit This

Today I looked through my Computer Tricks for Scrapbooking 2 magazine by Jessica Sprague to try something new to share with you.  Here is something easy you can do for a different look on a page.  I chose to use it on a baby scrapbooking page.  Add your pictures to your page first.  Then add a circular shape or embellishment.  Next, you are going to use the horizontal text tool (in photoshop), and add each letter separately on its own layer.  Once you get them all on for your word, click on each letter.  Go to the corner of the box that appears and when two arrows appear that are bent in an arch, you can then move your mouse to rotate the letter.  Do this for each one until they follow your circle shape.  Once you get the hang of it, it is quick and easy to do.  I used it on this page for the word “SWEET” so I could fit it around the photo.

Baby Love Digital Scrapbooking Page

Published by kb1151 under Digital, baby Edit This

Hello all!  Here is another beautiful page made easy by my friend with the adorable baby and a great digital scrapbooking kit called “Oh, Baby” by my designer friend, Karyn, over at Digital Arts Cafe.  I would not think of using orange paper for a baby layout, but these colors make this page really pop.  It was quite easy to make “ribbon” strip pieces out of some of the paper in the kit.  I just cut out narrow strips and placed them on the page.  The buttons from the kit also add a cute little touch to the page.  The alpha letters are also a part of the kit and just love how they look.  Don’t forget to date your pages as those babies grow up so fast.  Either include how old they are or the date the picture was taken and if you’re really chronologically obsessed include both!  I’m going to make this page layout into a freebie to offer on the blog, so be sure to come back and get it!

Baby Boy Digital Scrapbooking Page

Published by kb1151 under Digital, baby Edit This

Hello all!  I’m excited to show you some pages I’ve been working on made with a new “Oh, Baby” kit given to me by my designer friend, Karyn, over at Digital Arts Cafe.  I suggested that she design a baby kit using some not so typical colors(aka pink and blue).  She took my idea and ran with it and I love what she came up with.  This kit is so versatile I will be using it for many pages about kids and not just for baby pages.  One of my college friends emailed me some great pictures of her baby foster child to play with and the pictures are just so cute that anything I do with them will look great!  On this page are some pictures of him in a running suit looking sporty so this page is titled, “Daddy’s Little All-Star.”  I was just checking so I could add the link for the kit and it is also on sale right now for cheap!  I would suggest checking it out.
