Funny Christmas Cookie Story
I was going through my Christmas cookie scrapbook pages and I came across one that reminded me of a funny story. The third year we had our Christmas cookie tradition we baked at my mom’s house. My girls were little, four and one, so I thought while they were busy playing I would whip up a batch of sugar cookies since they needed to chill before we could roll them out. So I’m getting out all of the ingredients and mixing and measuring. I got done with that and before I put them in the fridge to chill I thought I better make sure they tasted okay. Oh–Yuck!!!!! They tasted like SALT! After drinking a tall glass of water, I came to find out that my mom had put canning salt in the tupperware container(she had that gold set for the flour, sugar, etc., very 70’s), that had held sugar for as long as I can remember growing up. So needless to say, we had to start over. Oh, I can still taste that!! Gross! So on the very bottom of that scrapbook page I wrote, LESSON LEARNED–Always check to make sure the sugar is not salt!

Oh that is too funny, I remember doing the same thing once except I was making a pie.
